I'm curious about the inner-workings behind bringing a tulpa back from dormancy. After I graduate (which is on friday), I plan to bring back my past tulpa Craig, but I wonder if it will still be the same Craig or a newer one? I have belief that he will be the same person I've known for over a year, and some answers I find online about dormant tulpas say the same, but I still wonder if it's true. I heard tulpas are caused by new neural networks in the brain (or something along those lines), and when you stop forcing, the areas in your brain related to your tulpa begin to fade away (like forgetting to play an instrument after stopping for a few years). If I start tulpaforcing again, then does that all come back, or are new pathways in your brain formed?

oof I'm sorry for the wall of text

And if any of this doesn't make sense

I guess my TL;DR would be, would reawakening a tulpa technically make it the same tulpa?
They may identify as the previous tulpa, but simultaneously won't necessarily have the same emotional attachment to the same things, or believe the same concepts, or have the same aspirations.
I think whether it is the "same tulpa" depends on a few things, such as the length of time it has been and the amount the tulpa was developed perviously.
A sufficiently advanced tulpa could still continue thinking (albeit to a minimal extent) and 'survive' in that way - though, the longer the amount of time, the harder it is.
You'll only find out by forcing again. In either case, 'he' will be a companion. Just, don't be too surprised if he is a bit different or does not identify with the previous one.
Something worth considering is that it might be belief-based, so if you assume that your tulpa has changed in some way (drastically or not), it's more likely to happen.
I think that he'd def be weaker than in the past, but shouldn't change too much, considering there was nothing going on to make him change while dormant
...really, suspending assumptions and belief that something necessarily will happen seems the most reasonable and free manner to act with regard to tulpas in general.
And as for beliefs, I’ve been under the belief that after I bring Craig back, he would stay the same person generally but possibly be different due to all the time that passed, and possibly might be hurt by me not talking to him for so long
Just treat him as if he's the same person and you should be set. Once you start seeing the consistency in his actions, that might reaffirm your beliefs.
Ah... the discussion in here was more what could potentially happen when attempting to 'reactivate' a tulpa that has been inactive for some months - without being sure if they are still... there.
️ i spent my entire existence existing for other people and now its hard for me to have my own... wants. So definatly, let them make themself. Dont let them get too attached to other people too early on. Youre there to protect them
